The people of Owerri Zone have held a rally to further intensify their demand for the governorship seat in 2027.

The rally, held at Central School, Ogbor in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, was organized by the Owerri Zone Leaders of Thought and sponsored by a prominent son of the zone, Chief Success Akagburuonye.

Speaking on the occasion, the Operational Leader of the Owerri Zone Leaders of Thought, Chief Charles Amadi, urged the people of Aboh Mbaise to appreciate Governor Hope Uzodimma for his commitment to equity, which he said provides Owerri Zone the opportunity to produce the next governor in 2027.

He commended the governor’s performance and encouraged the people of the zone to intensify the campaign for an Owerri Zone candidate to succeed him.

Chief Amadi also noted the group’s preparedness to replicate the rally across the nine local government areas of Owerri Zone, pledging support for whoever the governor endorses from the zone for the 2027 governorship race.

The Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Mr. Alaribe Iheukwumere, appreciated the large turnout, expressing confidence that the objective of the rally would be achieved.

In his vote of thanks, the host, Chief Success Akagburuonye, called for stronger commitment to the Owerri Zone project.

He reaffirmed his readiness to support any candidate anointed by the governor, stressing the need for a dedicated and honest individual to consolidate the governor’s achievements.

Other speakers at the event, including Mr. Vitalis Onuoha, emphasized that Owerri Zone has competent individuals with sound knowledge of governance, and appealed to the governor to consider the people of Aboh Mbaise for the top position.
