Port Harcourt, Nigeria – July 6, 2025

In a significant move aimed at deepening grassroots impact and strengthening humanitarian response in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region, the Solution Social Initiative (SSI), the development and humanitarian arm of Solution Prayer Power Divine Ministry, has officially sought collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

The appeal, dated July 4, 2025, and addressed to the Honourable Minister, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, highlights SSI’s growing efforts to bridge the gap in humanitarian support, youth empowerment, and community development across vulnerable populations in the region.

SSI, based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was established as a faith-driven nonprofit organization focused on transforming lives through humanitarian, educational, and economic development programs. It operates within six thematic areas: emergency humanitarian relief, skill acquisition and empowerment, educational scholarships, community health advocacy, ICT and digital literacy, and women’s empowerment.

In the letter signed by Prophet Efe Cyril Edah, Director of SSI, the organization emphasized the pressing socio-economic challenges in the Niger Delta—including poverty, youth unemployment, high dropout rates, and increasing vulnerability among women and displaced families. According to the Director, “The Niger Delta, though blessed with resources, is still home to widespread social challenges that mainstream government programs often do not fully reach. We are committed to filling that gap.”

The organization’s correspondence outlined specific areas where it seeks to partner with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. These include:

  1. Joint execution of community outreach and empowerment programs.
  2. Recognition and engagement as a local implementing partner in federal and multilateral humanitarian initiatives.
  3. Inclusion in Ministry-led platforms on social protection and poverty-focused efforts, particularly educational and vocational support for indigent populations.

SSI maintains that such a partnership will not only expand the reach of federal initiatives but also strengthen the drive for inclusive national development.

Prophet Edah lauded the Honourable Minister’s leadership in delivering sustainable, people-focused programs and reiterated SSI’s readiness to contribute to the Ministry’s goals. “We believe that public-private-faith partnerships are vital for lasting transformation. With your support, we can extend a helping hand to those who need it most.”

The organization also enclosed its full profile and expressed its willingness to engage the Ministry for further discussions and collaboration planning.

Founded as a spiritual-social hybrid for community service, Solution Social Initiative has spearheaded numerous relief missions, youth training projects, and advocacy campaigns targeting substance abuse, violence prevention, and digital literacy in rural communities. Its approach is grassroots-oriented, impact-driven, and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As the Ministry continues to coordinate national responses to poverty and humanitarian crises, stakeholders are hopeful that collaborations like these will accelerate the pace of development, especially in regions like the Niger Delta where vulnerability remains high.
