Large crowd of people turned out Sunday to celebrate with HRH, King Charles Ejemeka, as he marks his 2025 new yam festival.
Opening the ceremony, King Charles, the king of Umunna/ Amadehi autonomous community, Ubulu, Oru West LGA, Imo State, told the people that yam is an essential commodity made by God in a special way for the sustainance of mankind which involves annual cultivation and harvest.
He stated that Iriji as called in Igbo land is a time of Thanksgiving to God Almighty in whose power it is to produce the yam and be alive to harvest.
Eze Ejemeka, ogbakarioji “1”, Igwe “3′ enjoined the people to take cultivation of yam so serious in other to ensure food sufficiency in our society.
