A philanthropist and National President, Hoperising for Imolites, Chief Success Akagburuonye, has commended the Concerned Church Leaders’ Forum for taking the lead in sensitizing the public on the ongoing Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) registration and revalidation exercise.
Chief Akagburuonye gave the commendation following the Forum’s recent appearance on Orient 94.5 FM’s flagship programme, Nigeria Now, where its members extensively discussed the importance of active civic participation.
During the radio engagement, prominent members of the Forum — including the Bishop of Egbu Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Geoffrey Okorafor, legal luminary Ngozi Olehi, and social commentator Uche Onyeoziri urged citizens to disregard apathy, misinformation, and other negative tendencies that could discourage them from registering or voting in future elections.
Chief Akagburuonye described the Forum’s intervention as “timely, patriotic, and exemplary,” noting that faith-based leaders play a crucial role in shaping public opinion and promoting responsible citizenship.
He further called on other religious and community-based organizations to emulate the Concerned Church Leaders’ Forum by using their platforms to enlighten citizens on their civic responsibilities, especially ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“What the Concerned Church Leaders’ Forum has done is a clear demonstration of commitment to good governance and democratic growth. Sensitization at this stage is key to ensuring that every eligible Nigerian participates meaningfully in the electoral process,” Akagburuonye stated.
He reiterated that voter registration and revalidation remain fundamental steps toward strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring that the will of the people prevails at the polls.
