The Anambra State Chapter of the City Boy Movement has congratulated prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), on his appointment as Southeast Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political support group aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a jointly issued statement signed by the State Coordinator, Hon. Ejike Echeazu; State Secretary, Hon. Dr. Wilson Ekwerekwu; and Assistant Secretary, Engr. Ositadimma Okafor, the Chapter described the appointment as strategic, symbolic, and well-deserved.

The statement noted that Obi Cubana, an indigene of Anambra State, represents enterprise-driven leadership with strong grassroots appeal, particularly among youths, professionals, and business owners across the Southeast.

According to the Anambra Chapter, the appointment reflects ongoing efforts to broaden political inclusion and strengthen engagement between the Southeast and the federal leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“As his home state, Anambra proudly stands with Chief Obinna Iyiegbu. His appointment underscores a renewed commitment to ensuring the Southeast remains fully integrated in national political discourse and development planning,” the statement said.

The Chapter further announced plans to undertake a first official solidarity and familiarization visit to Obi Cubana in his capacity as Southeast Coordinator, describing the visit as a mark of home-state support and organizational alignment.

The Anambra City Boy Movement expressed confidence that Obi Cubana’s leadership will strengthen regional mobilization and translate grassroots enthusiasm into structured political participation.

The statement reaffirmed the Chapter’s commitment to the ideals of the City Boy Movement and pledged full cooperation toward expanding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support base in the Southeast.
