The National President of Hoperising for Imolites, Chief Success Akagburuonye, has commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for a successful two-day Imo Economic Summit 2025—an initiative he described as a bold step toward transforming the State into a major economic force on the global stage.
Chief Akagburuonye praised the governor for unveiling an ambitious one-trillion-dollar economic blueprint aimed at unlocking the state’s vast potential across key sectors. He noted that the summit demonstrated Governor Uzodimma’s determination to reposition Imo as an investment-friendly hub capable of attracting sustainable private capital.
The summit, held at the Concorde Boulevard in Owerri, drew an impressive lineup of global and regional leaders, including Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu; President Joseph Boakai of Liberia; former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson; former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon; former President of Mauritius, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim; former President of Afrexim Bank, Professor Benedict Oramah; Nigeria’s Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; and industrialist, Aliko Dangote.
Chief Akagburuonye lauded the governor’s vision, describing the summit as a turning point in Imo’s economic journey. He expressed optimism that the outcomes of the summit would translate into tangible growth and improved quality of life for Imo citizens, while positioning the state among Africa’s emerging economic frontiers.
