Ugbele has emerged winners of the 2026 Mgbidi Community Shield, defeating Umuaguma 4–3 in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 1–1 draw at full time.
The football tournament, sponsored by a prominent son of the area, Mr. MacRichard Onunaku, took place at the Mgbidi Township Stadium in Oru West Local Government Area.
