A socio-cultural and religious group in Abia state, in the South-East geo- political zone of Nigeria, Abia Aborigines Christians Assembly (AACA), the umbrella body of all Abia state citizens in the country has expressed deep concern and fear over the whereabout and safety of one of their illustrious sons, a youth activist and leader, Mr Ukaenyi Augustine Peter who hails from Umuopara, Egbule, Mgboko Mbu, Obingwa in Abia state.

He was reported to have gotten missing since June,12, 2021.Investigations by a section of the media had indicated that Mr Ukaenyi Augustine Peter before his reported disappearance was a bonafide member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), an organization formed by some people of Igbo tribe in the South- East of Nigeria to agitate for their independence from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and which the Nigerian government had declared a terrorist organization.

Investigations had further shown that Augustine was at a time forced to exit from IPOB on the face of crisis and rancour with the leadership of the organization following his blatant refusal to be conscripted into the notorious wing of the organization called Eastern Security Network (ESN).

It was said that the face off had made him an endangered specie that led to his being desperately hunted for a ‘kill’ as was evidenced upon the several attempts made to assassinate him by both the military and some members of the agitating group.

It was therefore no longer news that Augustine had escaped death after uncountable number of raids, ambushes and gunshots suspected to be from both the Nigerian military, the operatives of the security services and the fundamental members of the organization, IPOB that were all meant to waste him.

Despite denials by the Nigerian security services on their alleged involvement in his manhunt and raids on his ancestral home they insisted that IPOB is a terrorist organization and that all her confirmed members were declared wanted and that when any one is arrested would be made to face the wrath of the laws of the country.

Sources had revealed that the ancestral home of Mr Ukaenyi Augustine Peter was burnt down by some yet to be identified gunmen said to be masked during the incident that took place around June 5, 2021 of which the inferno was reported to result in the death of his aged mother.
