The Onowu of Amawom ancient kingdom Prince Eugene Njemanze has called for harmony and peaceful coexistence among Owerri nchi- ise clan to expedite development and progress.
Prince Njemanze made the call at his 60th birthday celebration held on 29th December at Rockview Hotel Owerri.
According to him, ” the enemy placed a demarcation spiritually that I will not cross 60 and I was 60 years on the 13th of November 2024 but I decided to celebrate it today to give God all the glory, here I am hale and hearty with my family.
“My biggest achievement is to be alive with my family, I am a lover of peace that made women of Amawom in my community gave me a title “ome udo ndom Amawom”. We had earlier embarked on a two day free medical care in collaboration with USA based medical team led by my younger brother where over one thousand people received various medical treatment and drugs free of charge. It was indeed a successful outing and we are happy giving back our little quota to the society.”
Also speaking, Dr Iyke Leo Njemanze, President of Nzuko Umuamawom in United States of America described the celebrant as a father, lover of peace and a man of proven integrity, stressing that he had been a pillar of unity to the family and Amawom community at large.
“We are overwhelmed by the outpour of love from people who has come from all works of life to celebrate with us today, that is a testament of the type of person he is, it is our prayer that he will live in good health to continue touching lives of people,” he said.
“Through nzuko amawom USA, we have provided palliative twice during covid-19, and as a medical doctor I was able to identify the health challenges of my people, that is the reason we embarked on a free health care services where over one thousand people received health consultation, laboratory investigation, free drugs and eye glasses. The highlight of the medical outreach was the empowerment of Amawom disable association with clutches, wheelchairs and cash donations to enable them start up small business.”
