For several decades past, we all can attest to the fact that we have constantly lamented, groaned and witnessed series of unfulfilled electoral promises in the nations political scenario.
Electoral promises and party manifesto have become a thing of caricature which can’t be trusted by any person with a good frame of mind.
However we don’t need a soothsayer to prophesy to us anymore that it is of course the male folk who have constantly and greedily played a major dominant factor in today’s political space. They are the architect of these lapses that have deprived the masses as regards to their rightful inheritance in the nations political dividends.

This ugly trend stems from some of the consequences of negligence or deprivation of the women folk to take up meaningful positions in the Nigerian polity.
Taking the Eastern region as a case study, our women folk have suffered so much abandonment and negligence as regards to non inclusive attitude and marginalization. Just a handful of our qualified women were given the chance to participate in politics or allowed to be in the hierarchy of the nations political ruling class.
This ugly dramatic experience could be traced to some of the old fashioned African cultural beliefs which portrays women as second class citizens or ordinary house wives whose primary role ends in the kitchen and more importantly in the ‘other room’ according to late Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s former Head of State.
Women in most cases are viewed in several cultural beliefs as inconsequential or incompetent of holding leadership positions in the society not to talk of seeking an elective position in the state or country because those positions were considered exclusively a reservation for the male gender.
In some cultural beliefs too, it is a taboo for a woman to have a voice in the midst of men not to talk of holding a responsible managerial affairs or to be in charge of leadership positions over the men.
Currently events have proved that women are really the best and in most cases when it comes to dispensation of the political dividends to the masses. This assertion needs not to be over emphasized in the sense that there are several evidences to showcase these facts.
1. Women as mothers have that feminine feelings of caring and loving especially in agonising periods.
2. Mothers are prone to be more generous than men. This is true in the sense that it is very difficult to get a stingy mother who will sit down and watch a relation suffering when she has the capacity to help.
3. Majority of mothers are promise keepers. Men can disappoint so easily than women. This is a proven fact.
4. Majority of the men in politics according to what we are witnessing today are heavily involved in looting, changing of women like wrapper, squadmenia, money laundering etc. Ask yourself this salient question, how many women in politics are under the watch lists of Nigeria’s economic watchdog agency commonly known as the EFCC today?
I tenaciously believe that only the women can change the narratives in today’s political scenario based on the negative lives of some of our male gender in politics which are not worthy of emulation. Basically, I am unapologetically and unrepentantly joining in the clarion call among millions of Nigerians who are craving that women should take over Nigeria’s political space as a panacea to ameliorate the excruciating plights of the masses which seems to be having no end in sight.
In this current political dispensation however, we should be glad to welcome the historical arrival of a visionary, amiable and indefatigable woman, in the person of Queen Chinyere Tim Opurum, a great woman of substance, a competent women leader, a business mogul, a virtuous woman and an exemplary model of beauty and brain. Queen Chinyere Opurum I can beat my chest has not joined politics in order to indulge in the continuous systematic looting galore that have plagued our nation over the time immemorial, rather her appearance in this current political scenery is strictly focused on the positive intent to modify and prioritise further on her most cherished philanthropic gestures towards alleviating the plights of the common man in the streets and that of our communities in general.
Over the years before answering this clarion call to join in the current political space, Queen Chinyere already have been in the act of giving to Charity especially, the less privileged through the Queen Tim Opurum Foundation which it’s principle aims is to assist the down trodden through Charitable donations like sharing of palliatives, clothes and other stuffs to alleviate the plights of the masses especially in Dim Na Nume, Isu Community and it’s environs within her supposed constituency.
