In what has been described as chaotic, the Imo State Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC witnessed a disturbing situation on Friday, 15th of May, 2026 when a group of party members converged at the party office to demonstrate their disapproval and total rejection of an obnoxious attempts being made by those they describe as political Hijackers and Interlopers, who have come to take over the structure of the party supposedly from the camp of ADC and APC, using their contact at the party secretariat, Abuja.

One of the speakers, Hon Austin Ekene expressed worries at the desperation of some persons, whom he described as Interlopers to hijack the party structure from the ward level to the state Executives.
According to Hon Ekene, these are shameless political sycophants and prostitutes, who jump from one political party to the other looking for undue opportunities to be politically relevant in every election years.

The protesters claimed that the Interlopers have only rushed to Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, only to use the popularity of Mr Peter Gregory Obi to achieve their unhealthy and seemingly unachievable political ambition.

Imo NDC party members lamented on the need for the party’s National leadership to allow peace to reign in Imo State NDC by not encouraging or accepting financial inducement from these interlopers and shameless political harlots, who are practically based in Abuja to hijack the party and destroy the chances of NDC winning elections in Imo State come 2027.

Protesters also called on Mr Peter Obi and Dr Kwankwaso to interven into the matter without delay to ensure that patriotic members of the party are not pushed out of the party by these interlopers, who lack total electoral values in their various constituencies in Imo State.

NDC members in Imo State, who participated in the demonstration stated that many of the persons, buying positions for offices in their various wards, LGAs and at the state levels are not resident at home.
They emphatically maintained that some of them whose names are flying in Abuja party secretariat, where positions and elective offices are being given to the highest bidder are living in the state.

The assertions of the NDC protesters have sent disturbing feelings to Nigerians who are believing and hoping that NDC as the political party of Mr Peter Obi, whom many are hoping on to correct plethora of leadership hiccups in the country is producing bad and terrible odor to the dissatisfaction of the people.

Hon Austin Ekene called on Imo electorate and the Obidient Movement to be watchful and stick only to Mr Peter Obi while studying and marking closely the questionable characters of other candidates, who have come to leverage on the political popularity and electoral values of Peter Obi to scale through the electoral huddles.
