Chief Success Akagburuonye has been honoured with a Platinum Award for his outstanding support for the 2026 Iriji Mbaise Cultural Festival held at Oke Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
The award was presented to Chief Akagburuonye by the President-General of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Mr. Joe Anosike, on behalf of the people of Mbaise, during the colourful cultural festival, which featured traditional dance performances and the Iwa Ji ritual.

Presenting the award, Anosike described the honour as well deserved, commending Chief Akagburuonye for his generous support towards the successful hosting of this year’s festival.

An elated Chief Akagburuonye thanked the organisers for the recognition and prayed God to strengthen him to continue contributing to the development and wellbeing of the people of Imo State.

He reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the people, citing the recent graduation of 236 beneficiaries who underwent training in various vocational skills sponsored by him.

Chief Akagburuonye also donated 50 million naira to support the festival and its activities.
Other speakers at the event, including the Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Council, Chief Iheukwumere Alaribe, and Chief Chima Amadi described Chief Akagburuonye as a good man, commending his numerous acts of support to humanity.

The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Mrs. Hannatu Musa Musawa was represented at the event by Mr. Kingsley Ngene Bash.

A former Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, and the Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, were among the dignitaries who attended the festival.
