Airtel Nigeria, Imo State Office has pledged its support for the 2026 edition of the Imo International Film Festival (IIFF).

The State Manager of the telecommunications company, Mr. Olisa Okoye, made the pledge when the organizers of the festival paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Owerri.

Okoye described the forthcoming festival as a laudable initiative that would further position Imo State on the global creative map.

He noted that Airtel Nigeria is always willing to partner with organizations on initiatives that improve the livelihoods and welfare of the people, assuring the organizers of the company’s commitment to ensuring the success of the event.

Earlier, the President of the Imo International Film Festival, Hon. Chikezie Donatus Nkemdirim, said the visit formed part of preparations to make the second edition of the festival bigger, better and more impactful.

He disclosed that the three-day event, scheduled for July 23 to 25, 2026, will showcase films, arts and youth creativity.

According to him, the festival will culminate in an award ceremony to honour excellence in filmmaking and recognize outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s creative economy and beyond.

Nkemdirim added that Airtel Nigeria’s commitment to youth development, creativity and community empowerment aligns with the festival’s mission of nurturing the next generation of Nigerian storytellers and entertainers.

He expressed confidence that the company’s participation would add prestige to the event and further stimulate the growth of Imo State’s creative industry.
