Candidate for Owerri Municipal State Constituency, Hon. Clinton Amadi has warned against any plot to rig the March 11 House of Assembly election in Imo State in favour of any unpopular candidate.

Amadi, who is contesting on the platform of Labour Party also charged youths of the state to ensure that their votes are protected during and after the election.

He equally commended Imo people for their support to the Labour Party during the presidential and national assembly elections, even as he contested the results announced by INEC, arguing that it was below the expectation of Imo citizens who voted massively for Labour Party candidates across the state.

Amadi, who spoke in Owerri, Wednesday, during a chat with newsmen, enjoined Imo people, particularly those from Owerri Municipal constituency, to extend same support to Labour Party House of Assembly candidates in the forthcoming election.

He noted that the party in Imo recorded huge success that led to the victory of the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Imo East, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi and other Labour Party candidates across the State.

The House of Assembly hopeful also hinted that the presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Peter Obi trounced his opponents with a very wide margin, even in other parts of the nation and wondered why he was not declared the winner of last Saturday’s election.

He therefore warned those, he described as haters of democracy to give peace a chance, and allow the people to freely choose who they want as their representatives.
