Candidate for Orlu State Constituency on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Comrade Dr. Mrs. Justina Ekene Akwuaka-Akwaja has lauded the people of Orlu Council Area for the uncommon wisdom and candor displayed during the Presidential and National Assembly polls.
She therefore urged them to remain steadfast and peaceful so as to elect credible leaders of their choice and give room for a free, fair and transparent election come Saturday, March 11.
Akwaja in a chat with newsmen, Wednesday, said the situation in the nation calls for a lot of tolerance and calm, stressing that human lives and properties should not be wasted because of elections.
“Everything will be alright with time”, she emphasized.
Akwaja equally encouraged them to remain prayerful and stay safe in their various communities, and most importantly endeavour to exercise their civic duties in the forthcoming House of Assembly election by coming out en masse to vote.
The APGA candidate expressed her readiness to win the Orlu Assembly seat and offer purposeful leadership to the enterprising people of Orlu State Constituency.
“I am confident of victory and my emergence will bring new tidings of peace and favors unprecedented to Orlu constituency and Imo State at large. Every Orlu man and woman will prosper through life changing bills I will pass on health, education, sustainable skills acquisition, infrastructural development, women and youth empowerment and provision of welfare opportunities, their voices will be heard through me and democratic dividends shall not elude Orlu state constituency again”, Akwaja assured.
She thanked the Governor of the State, Hope Uzodimma for the many opportunities given to women in the State including appointments into various public positions.
Akwaja prayed the Governor to further encourage women participation in politics by giving female candidates in the forthcoming election the first choice of priority.
She promised to contribute her quota to ensure Imo becomes the most peaceful and development-focused state in Nigeria.
“Our Imo women must be given the opportunity both financially and otherwise to win their elections to make a difference and sue for lasting peace in our land. The time has gone for lip service on women participation and I plead that our development-conscious Governor must make decisive efforts to encourage women’s active participation in electable positions in politics for the peace and prosperity of our land. Any woman in leadership position will bring all her motherly qualities if given the opportunity to serve, as examplified by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Hon. Ifeoma Ndukwu, Hon. Kema Chikwe among many others, irrespective of party lines.”
