The President of Imo International Film Festival (IIFF), Hon. Don Nkemdirim Chikezie says the Board of Directors of IIFF has selected the jurors of the film festival billed to hold July 25th – 27th in Owerri.
Led by Dr. Charles Okwuowulu, a film scholar, film administrator and filmmaker, Hon. Nkemdirim said that the Jury chairman came highly recommended, as he had been on the board of more than fifteen jury sessions both in Nigeria and abroad.
Other members of the jury are Dr. Gloria Ernest Samuel, an associate professor of Film and Media Studies – Imo State University, Owerri, Prof Atul Marewad, an Indian Film Critic, Mazi Sam Uche Anyamele, a filmmaker/Scholar and Shehu Bello a filmmaker.
They were also highly recommended for the plum job.
Hon. Nkemdirim popularly known as Don Nkems said that with the array of the personalities, the festival would be a robust film harvest.
In an interview with the Jury Chair, Dr. Charles Okwuowulu, a former Head of Theatre and Film Arts Department- Alex Ekwueme Federal University 2018-2023, noted that the jurors painstakingly selected the best out of multiple entries that were turned in for the festival.
While applauding his fellow jurors for the intellectual jury engagements, he assured the public that the nominated films were based on strict compliance to universal assessment standards.
