Amidst the controversy surrounding the tenure of the Imo State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), investigations have revealed that the current Chairman, Samuel Udeh, is expected to hand over to his successor on September 7th, 2024.
The investigations further revealed that those misinforming people about October handover date are contravening the regulations guiding the union as Udeh’s predecessor handed over to him on September 7th, 2021.
The stipulated number of years for a tenure is three years.
Consequently, Udeh’s three-year tenure will end on September 7th, 2024.
A member of the union who spoke on condition of anonymity described as deceptive, information making the rounds in some quarters that Udeh’s tenure will end in October.
Said he, “The tenure of Udeh’s predecessor ended on September 7th, 2021. That was the day he handed over to Udeh who is therefore expected to hand over to his successor on September 7th, 2024. Anything short of that is tantamount to contravention of laid down regulations.”
