Isiekenesi Autonomous Community of Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State in Nigeria’s South East region was agog on Tuesday 7th January, 2025 as Senator Osita Bonaventure Izunaso flagged off the construction of Constituency road projects.
Izunaso who represents Imo West (Orlu) Senatorial District at the National Assembly was received at the residence of Prince Nixon Okwara, son of the late immediate past traditional ruler of Isiekenesi Ancient Kingdom, HRM, Eze C U . Okwarauba, Ononigwe 11 of Isiekenesi around 11:37 am by Okwara, Chairman of Onix Group of Companies, his elder brother, Apostle Prince Rufus Okwara, Chief Humphrey Ikeaka Snr. Ikezuagu Dikenafai, the APC Apex Leader in Ideato South LGA , Hon Chief Victor Okechukwu Nwanaforo Onyechere, former Chairman of Ideato South LGA, his elder brother, and Predecessor, Hon. Chief Kevin Nwanaforo, the Acting President-General of Isiekenesi Autonomous Community, Architect Paschal Duru, Mr. Andy Okwara among others.
In his welcome address, Prince Nixon Okwara, a Lagos-based real estate guru and London- trained geographical information service expert who rejected the position of Special Adviser to the Senate President who is the Director General of Grow Orlu Project, expressed happiness the flag-off of road construction as Constituency Project in the community was a historical milestone over the decades, describing it as “a promise delivered”
On his part, Izunaso who is championing the creation of Orlu State in the Senate, promised that more infrastructural developments should be expected from his office.
He expressed happiness at the announced return of Chief Victor Okechukwu Nwanaforo Onyechere from Accord to APC, assuring that “I will notify the Governor of this good news of your return to APC”
National Newsblast Newspaper authoritatively gathered that the road network will connect the palace of late HRM Eze CU Okwarauba to the palace of the incumbent traditional Ruler, HRM Eze Athanasius Ejiogu Ikpa Ononigwe Gburugburu V of Isiekenesi Ancient Kingdom, to the Isiekenesi Natural Spring Water site called Ogba na mgberede” through Church Street to the Isiekenesi-Dikenafai road as well as Umuaghobe Autonomous Community.
Other personalities present at the event were Chief Emeka Duru, former Managing Director of Imo Transport Corporation (ITC), Chief Ndudiri Fidelis Duruagwu, and recently installed Hon . Chief Comrade Salvator Amadi “Emetumba 1 Isiekenesi.
