Senator-elect for Imo East Senatorial District, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi has assured students of Government Secondary School, Owerri, of his intentions to close the infrastructure deficit in the school.

Senator Onyewuchi made the promise during the 2023 Old Boys Reunion of the College, held over the weekend.

The federal lawmaker at the occasion, commissioned an ICT center in the school, few months after he had commissioned a Solar Water Project, also for use, by students of the college.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the Labour Party Senator-elect, who is also an Old Boy of the College vowed to enhance the infrastructure base of the school.

He lamented the infrastructure deficit in the school and promised to close the gap.

“Some of our boys are going to write ICT-based exam and some of them cannot operate a computer and don’t have ICT knowledge. So how will they pass the exam? If you don’t have ICT knowledge and you are going to sit for ICt-based exam, haven’t you failed from day one? That means you have failed. So am trying to close that gap.”

Senator Onyewuchi also promised to continue his interventions, because, according to him, there is compelling and huge demand for infrastructure with the state and federal government.

He equally harped on the need for maintenance.

“The infrastructure we have, we must maintain”, Onyewuchi stressed, while relishing the efforts and progress, Old Boys of the school had made so far, to better the lots of the students.

He seized the occasion to thank the people of Owerri Zone for their votes and assured that the confidence reposed in him, will be justified by his actions in the 10th Senate.

He promised more empowerment and more robust representation, even as he vowed to introduce novel ideas and make laws that will address critical areas of need.
