Beneficiaries of Rosita Unique Care Foundation Income Generating Activity Items have been advised to redouble their efforts and ensure they differentiate their capital from the general income in other to remain in business.
The Executive Director, Rosita Unique Care Foundation, Associate Professor Ngozi Isiozor gave the advice during the official handover of the Income Generating Activity Items to the beneficiaries at the residence of HRH Eze CC Okoro, the Traditional Ruler of Amaraku Ancient Kingdom in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.
The items were bags of melon, grinding machine, bags of maize, bags of beans, flour and oil, tools for vulcanizers, hair dressing items such as wigs, nails, eye lashes, relaxers, among others.
Associate Professor Isiozor who also advised the beneficiaries to join Village Savings and Loan Associations to enable them save up their money and not to go out of business, reminded them of their training on financial education to guide their businesses, even as she encouraged them to establish Child Protection Committee in their various Council Areas.
She promised to continuously monitor the beneficiaries to ensure the items were not misused and expressed delight that the objective and the target population were reached satisfactorily to make the beneficiaries stable, their children schooled, healthy and safe.
On the selection of beneficiaries, she said it was based on assessment of vulnerable members of society, particularly women with children, to enable them assess help to support their wards.
The traditional ruler of Amaraku Ancient Kingdom, Eze Barrister CC Okoro, Nna Aku 1 of Amaraku Ancient Kingdom, thanked Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria and Rosita Unique Care Foundation for improving the health and economic status of vulnerable members of society.
Eze Okoro, a retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice prayed God to bless the items and urged the beneficiaries to reward the efforts of their benefactors with greater commitment to the project goal.
A member of the Eze’s cabinet, Chief Owuamanam Chinaka advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and train their children to become useful members of society.
Mr Duru Ikechi from Social Welfare Office, Isiala Mbano Local government thanked Rosita Unique Care Foundation and Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria for advancing the cause of humanity and prayed God to multiply the gift items.
A beneficiary, Mrs. Oluchi Chigozie from Umuobasi Amaraku who received a bag of maize said she would process it to pap, and the profit would be used to train her children and still remain in the business.
Another beneficiary, Mr Eugene Onyeali from Umunjam Mbieri in Ikeduru local government area, who was gifted a grinding machine worth of 155,000 naira said he was overwhelmed with joy and promised not to disappoint his benefactors.
Rosita Unique Care Foundation is implementing the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainable Solution (ACCESS) project in 10 local government areas of Imo state viz: Ikeduru, Mbaitoli, Ideato South, Ehime Mbano, Isiala Mbano, Obowo, Nwangele, Ihitte Uboma, Onuimo and Okigwe.
ACCESS is a five-year project funded by the American Centre for Disease Control through the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN).
