Women and children in Imo State have been reassured of their rights and protection.
The Vice Chairperson, International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, Barr Mrs. Obiageli Amaefule gave the assurance while speaking to newsmen in Oforola, Owerri West Council Area, Imo State.

According to Amaefule, FIDA will continue to protect the rights of women and children, especially the indigent ones in Imo State.
She boasted that the association in Imo has recorded huge success in recent times, particularly in the settlement of disputes between husband and wife, enforcement of rights of women and vulnerable children among many others.

The legal luminary advised parents to lay a good foundation for their children through the word of God, as that would guarantee their future.
While urging parents to always remind their wards of the implications of disobeying the law, Barr Amaefule charged them to know that once the law is breached, ignorance won’t be an excuse.
She commended all non-governmental organizations for all they do to educate women and children on their rights and rule of law.
She advised women to call on FIDA when their rights are threatened, noting that the organization is ever ready to handle their cases pro bono and ensure that justice is served.
