…Inaugurates committee

Chairman, Imo State House of Assembly Committee on Digital Economy and E-Government, Hon. Clinton Amadi has commended the governor of the state, Senator Hope Uzodimma for his foresight in creating the Ministry of Digital Economy and E-Government.

He also applauded the Governor for the training of over 100,000 Imo youths on various digital skills.

Amadi who represents Owerri Municipal Constituency, gave the commendation during the inauguration of members of the Imo State House of Assembly Committee on Digital Economy and E-Government, at the Assembly Complex, Tuesday.

The Lawmaker assured that the committee would work towards strengthening the capacity of the state government to develop and deploy digital technologies to make the system more productive and transparent.

“We will provide the needed oversight, so as to bring about the structure to accelerate achievements of government in the Digital Economy sector and in the implementation of E-Government in the State”, Amadi promised.

Whilst stressing the need to prepare youths of the state digitally, the Lawmaker hinted that the committee would collaborate with the Ministry of Digital Economy and E-Government and other associated agencies to see to the training of civil servants on E-governance, to make their work much easier and effective.

“The Global economy is fast changing, and the only available trade today is Digital market”, Amadi emphasized, while reiterating that the committee would ensure that the digital needs of the state government and the people are met through strategic initiatives and inputs.

He enjoined Committee members to give their best by thinking less of themselves and more of the progress of the state.

Other members of the Committee are Hon Emeka Ozurumba (Vice Chairman), Hon Sam Osuji (Member), Mrs Ibe (Clerk).
