Ngozi RBK Okafor, daughter of the foremost Nationalist RBK Okafor, Saturday, November 19, described her late father as one who was very passionate about education.
She said that the family deemed it necessary to highlight his legacies on the occasion of his 1st memorial lecture, after his transition to glory 31 years ago.
Ngozi Okafor who is contesting Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta/Oru West federal constituency seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress, noted that her late father was neck deep in civil responsibility, nation building and education.
Whilst stressing that a good education could help to improve one’s life, Ngozi expressed delight on the outcome of the occasion, which, according to her, was a success
She also commended students who emerged of the essay competition organized in honour of the late father, wherein four winners emerged and were given scholarship funds.
Lending his voice, I.K Okafor said Dr. RBK Okafor, his uncle, had until his death trained and sponsored many people to Overseas.
Overall winner, Anyanwu Daniel, HND 1 student of Imo State Polytechnic, Omuma, said he was overwhelmed with joy when he was announced winner of the essay competition and promised to make good use of the scholarship fund.
The occasion, which had dignitaries from all walks of life in attendance, featured live performance by Choristers from Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education and St. Lucy Catholic Parish Akwakuma.
